Joel Amit
Architectural Sculptor | Dimensional Crafter | Steel Illusionist
Highlights
Joel Amit is an Israeli designer and artist known for transforming industrial materials into vibrant, kinetic works of art. Based in Jerusalem, Amit creates striking wall sculptures and large-scale installations using intricately laser-cut metal, each piece bursting with color, movement, and energy.
Early in his career, Amit joined the Ayalim Association to help build student and artist villages in the Negev Desert. Originally pursuing a path in neuropsychology after earning a degree in psychology, his deep engagement with the creative process of building and design inspired a pivotal shift toward architecture. He went on to earn a degree in architecture from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
During his architectural studies, Amit began experimenting with laser-cut steel, blending the precision of design with the spontaneity of art. By the time he graduated, his sculptural works had already gained international recognition.
Amit’s work explores the tension between the mechanical and the organic, the rigid and the fluid. Inspired by nature and the digital age, he composes each piece from painted steel fragments, arranged in layered formations that seem to pulse with rhythm and life.
His art reimagines cold, heavy metal into joyful, expressive compositions—an alchemy he calls both “liberating” and deeply personal.
Today, Joel Amit’s work is exhibited in galleries, museums, and public spaces across five continents, captivating viewers with his unique fusion of technology, nature, and artistic wonder.
